5 Tips for Choosing Bed Linens
Did you know we spend about one-third of our lives asleep? So, it makes sense to invest in bedding that's not only comfortable but stands the test of time.
Here are five tips to help you choose!
1. Thread Count
Thread count isn't always an indication of quality anymore. I prefer a 400 single pick percale sheet because of the cool feel to it. But if you like a soft, warm bed, then a lovely jersey sheet might be better for you.
Once again, this has everything to do with personal preference. However, cotton usually has the best quality fibres, is known for its softness, and will improve with age.
The way sheets are woven has a direct impact on how they feel. A lightweight and tightly woven sheet results in crisp, cool bedding, while a super-tight weave makes it wrinkle-resistant and extra-soft.
Like any other element in the bedroom, sheets play a part in the overall design. I advise a small, medium, and large scale mix of patterns in the same colour family. 5. Seasonality Sheets that may seem better suited for the summer months can work all year. Save yourself some money and simply add a coverlet, blanket, and throw to make your bed cosy for the winter months.
